The Shepherd’s Flock
by: Andrew Tischler
Oil on Canvas Size: 15 x 28cm Framed: 41 x 54cm This original Graphite Drawing by Andrew Tischler is a hyperrealist work by the American-Australian Artist. This drawing depicts a typical rural scene in the surroundings of Lawrence, Central Otago, where Tischler lived for 3 years, until very recently. Here a dilapidated barn sits next to a gently flowing creek and sheep graze in the last light of the day. This drawing is a celebration of Tischler's faith, with the Cross hidden in the barn's facade, and the suggestive number of sheep. Often, Tischler will hide imagery within his scenes giving a nod to The Creator.
