The ideas for Christin Lutze's paintings are always based on a landscape itself and are then further developed by it beyond the topographical and narrative. The concrete landscape motif is ultimately overlaid by an abstract theme; both components, landscape and artistic idea, are reflected in the final motif, leaving the viewer enough scope for their own associations and reflections. Nevertheless, it does not depict nature, it rather serves as a backdrop. Her works are made up of structures and individual elements that combine to create a surreal, dreamlike, imagined atmosphere.
